At our school, students from Kindergarten to Year 6 attend Indonesian lessons once per week as part of our commitment to fostering global understanding and cultural awareness. Following the Australian Curriculum, the Indonesian language program introduces students to the language, people, and culture of one of Australia’s closest neighbours - Indonesia. Students learn through a variety of engaging strategies, including songs, games, storytelling, role-plays, and interactive activities, which help make language learning fun and meaningful. These diverse approaches support students in developing foundational language skills while deepening their understanding of Indonesia’s rich traditions, geography, and daily life. The program encourages curiosity, intercultural understanding, and respect, helping students become confident communicators and informed global citizens.
